Salman Khan’s ‘raped woman’ comment has incensed many in the country. While a few Bollywood stars openly expressed their concern and regret at Salman’s comment, the actor himself is yet to issue a formal statement on the same.
Sister-in-law, Maliaka Arora Khan – who was spotted today at the Mumbai airport, presumably returning back after her mini-vacation – preferred to remain mum as well when quizzed about Salman’s ‘raped woman’ comment. The actress refused to answer questions on her reunion with Arbaaz, which was in the news recently as well.

Salman’s ‘raped woman’ comment – made during the course of a group interaction with journalists – sparked off a nationwide outrage with many condemning the actor for passing an insensitive remark. While the Khan family patriarch Salim Khan apologised for his son’s gaffe and brother Arbaaz stated that it’s imperative for Salman to issue a clarification, Salman, on his part, has maintained radio silence over the issue, preferring to not answer scribes while on his way to Spain for IIFA.

Earlier, the NCW chief had sought a public apology from the Bollywood actor and asked for an explanation.

“When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn’t walk straight,” the 50-year-old actor said earlier on June 21.

Director Farhan Akhtar, who helmed the first two parts of the film starring superstar Shah Rukh Khan, had stated in March this year that he had finally decided on a thought which he intends to develop into a script for Don 3. But, in an interview recently, he had said that he had shot himself in the foot by announcing Don 3 after the end of Don 2.

A report recently stated that Shah Rukh’s three films, Priyanka’s Quantico and Farhan’s own acting commitments were the reasons for putting the film on hold.

Priyanka will next be seen in the Hollywood film Baywatch.

Irrfan Khan said that Rajinikanth’s film Kabali have stolen the poster of his upcoming film Madaari but it was no big deal and urged fans to go for both films.
Actor Irrfan Khan says that southern megastar Rajinikanth’s film Kabali have stolen the poster of his upcoming film Madaari but said it was no big deal and urged fans to go for both films.
Present at a mall in Mumbai for the promotion of the film, Irrfan, asked about the similarity between the films’ posters, said: “Even I didn’t know that. We are small filmmakers, I saw that Rajinikanthji’s film stole the poster of our film. You see his film’s poster and see our film’s poster. No big deal about it. Watch his film and watch our film, too.”
Both the posters see the faces of the lead actors, Irrfan Khan and Rajinikanth, with numerous buildings and skyscrapers standing horizontally on their faces.

Though the Madaari poster is mentioned as its official poster, loyal fans of Rajinikanth have clarified, on a website talking about the comparison, that the Kabali poster in question is a fan-made one and not the official poster.
There are numerous posters of Kabali doing the rounds on social media. Rajiniknath had shared two posters on his Twitter account in September last year, when the shooting had begun.

But among the recent ones, the one with Rajiniknath, Radhika Apte and China actor Wilson Choa, one in which he is staring at a gun in his hand, one where he is sitting on a sofa and one showing him with sunglasses in side profile, have been the popular ones.
About Madaari, Irrfan also said: “The film is a thriller, the film is talking about you. It is talking about 150 crore people, that there is a hero in every person and when that person wakes up then no one can face that person.”
About the experience of working with director Nishikant Kamat, he said: “It felt very good. Nishinkant Kamat had made a film Drishyam, before that he made Force and before that he had made Mumbai Meri Jaan, and we had worked together on that film. We got the opportunity to work again in this film. The film is a solid thriller, you will enjoy it. There is a message in it. People will take their message on their own.”

Pooja Bhatt took Twitter to talk about the speculation around the release of Cabaret.
There is a lot of uncertainty around the release date of actress Richa Chadha’s much-talked about film Cabaret; the release date had already been pushed twice, and there still no date set yet. While the actress said that she has no idea about the reason behind the delay, film’s producer Pooja Bhatt took Twitter to talk about the speculation around the release of Cabaret.
In a series of tweets, Pooja mentioned the truth behind the delay being “copyright has been violated on the film & we are fixing that.”.

Cabaret is the story of a girl who begins her journey from a small village in Jharkhand and wants to make it big in the world of dance. There will also be a healthy dose of love and romance in the movie.
Directed by Kaustav Narayan Niyogi and co-produced by Pooja Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar under the banner of Fisheye Network Pvt Ltd, the film was initially scheduled for release in May. It was later postponed to June 10 and now, everything’s uncertain.
Recently, when Richa was asked about the delay at IIFA, she said: “I have no idea about the date of the film being pushed. I think the producers can give you the right reason behind that.”
Pooja’s father, director Mahesh Bhatt, too is supporting his daughter’s cause, and replied to one of Pooja’s tweet saying: @PoojaB1972 @CabaretTheFilm What you allow is what will continue.

Poster of Yeh Hai India unveiled

Director Lom Harsh unveiled the first poster of his upcoming patriotic drama Yeh Hai India on Monday (June 27), saying that he didn’t want the first poster of his first film to be one with actors.
“We didn’t want the first poster of our first film to be the one with actors, as the content of our film is way above the actors who just enact the parts. India is known as the land of snake charmers, though that does not necessarily explain what our dear country is.
“Modiji (Prime Minister Narendra Modi) had said that it is digital India, not a land of snake charmers. India, being a land of snake charmers, is just something that the western countries think of us and it is a stereotype that should no longer be associated with us. Yeh Hai India also addresses numerous other such stereotypes and realities of India, in an entertaining and inspiring manner,” he said.
Instead, of showcasing his actors of the film, the poster reveals the basic details of the film like its name, and of the director and the producer, along with the social media handles of the film. But what actually catches the eye is that only an image of a snake charmer wooing a snake is seen on the poster and all seem carved out of wood.
According to Harsh, Yeh Hai India intends to break the misconceptions surrounding India and aims to showcase the real India. The film, presented by DLB Productions and produced by Sandeep Choudhary, stars Gavie Chahal, Deana Uppal, Mohan Agashe and Mohan Joshi among others. The film will be releasing this year and its trailer will be out soon.

Radhika Apte to star in 'Bhavesh Joshi'?

Buzz is that Radhika Apte will feature in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Bhavesh Joshi. Harshvardhan Kapoor, who is making his debut in Mirzya, will play the lead in the film. I hear Radhika was interested in the project, but felt her role was too small.

The makers then apparently reworked her character and made it one of the leading parts in the film. The project has gone through a lot of cast changes from Imran Khan to Shahid Kapoor.

IIFA 2016 leaves Madrid with Bollywood high

From Salman Khan, Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone to Hrithik Roshan — the IIFA 2016 gala, which concluded on Sunday (June 26), seemed like a big budget multi-starrer Bollywood film, with the colours, magic and drama that the country’s movie industry exudes.
The 17th edition of the big fat Bollywood affair, organised by the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA), saw mesmerising performances by Hrithik, Priyanka, Deepika and Salman to business forums held to strengthen bonds between India and Spain — which are celebrating 60 years of diplomatic ties.

The four-day gala, which started on June 23, saw the presence of several film celebrities and scores of their fans.
The opening day witnessed the official unveiling of Mirzya, which marks the debut of Anil Kapoor’s son Harshvardhan. Here, Shilpa Shetty took to the stage and gave Madrid a dekko at her famous thumkas.
Read all about IIFA 2016 here.
Joining them on stage were stars like Salman, Priyanka, Farhan Akhtar, Shahid Kapoor, Sonakshi Sinha and Deepika who expressed their excitement at being in Madrid to celebrate the power of Bollywood.
Every year, IIFA organisers explore an international destination for the extravaganza with the aim of popularising the Hindi film industry, and other things Indian.
For instance, fitness freak Shilpa hosted a mass Yoga Masterclass, involving several people to know more about the ancient art form and its benefits.
The IIFA gala was timed right to integrate with the city’s Mulafest — a Movement of Urban Life and Arts event and exhibition — which is Madrid’s annual culture fest that brings together music, art and food all in one place.
Adding an Indian musical touch to the Mulafest were Raghu Dixit Project, Midival Pundits, Karsh Kale and Nucleya, who got the party grooving.
There was more music too — the IIFA Rocks saw a melange of dancers and musicians from India, as well as from Spain. They gave the audience a ‘desi’ treat with the joy and high-on-energy flamenco.
The IIFA Rocks also saw the awards distribution in technical category, and Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s historical love saga Bajirao Mastani kept its golden run going with maximum awards.
After the teasers, the main awards night was held on Sunday.
People not only gathered in huge numbers to see their favourite Bollywood stars, but some of them also chose to wear Indian outfits for the gala night.
The venue was jam-packed and the fact that people were hooting for the show to begin was a testimony to the excitement it generated. Of course, the show began Bollywood style — two hours later than scheduled.
But for the fans, the final action was all worth it.
Priyanka, Tiger Shroff and Sonakshi Sinha were among the star performers who lit up the stage with their talent. Even Shahid and Farhan were at their wittiest when they made an entry on donkeys, and later poked fun at the censor board in India.
The big winners of the night were Bollywood’s rumoured couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh, who won the Best Actors for Piku and Bajirao Mastani respectively.
Bajirao Mastani turned out to be the big winner as it also won the Best Director trophy for Sanjay Leela Bhansali, and had bagged nine technical awards.
Beyond the awards ceremony, the IIFA Stomp, an electronic music fest, where popular disc jockeys present Bollywood music with electro twists, regaled the audience in Madrid.
And one hopes the Bollywood fever continues for sometime in Europe’s football capital.
